Korean Childhood Game
A Korean children's stick-batting game
Jjatchigi is a children's game of striking a short stick with a long one to send it flying, then measuring the distance with the stick for points. Encyclopedias usually list it as jachigi, a name that comes from measuring the distance with a stick to score.
It was also called metturichigi, odukteogi or mattae depending on the region, and was usually played in teams in yards and alleys. Scores were counted in units called dong or ja.
Strike the angled end of the short stick with the long one to lift it, then hit it again in the air to land it in a scoring zone. Choosing your stick, aiming, and two separate power gauges follow one after another.
